UPS – Unilab Print- and Communication Server

The Unilab Print and Communication Server (UPS) is the central communication platform of the Unilab Laboratory Solution Suite.

It is based on the Java Servlet Technology and connects to the Unilab LIS via a JDBC Interface. XML is used as a data exchange format (along with XSL Stylesheets for formatting the output). By use of this standard interfaces, it becomes possible to use the UPS with any LIS, that supports these standards.

The Unilab Print and Communication Server supports:

- High Quality Printouts

- PDF Output (streamed directly to the browser, written to a file or automatically send as an Email Attachment)

- Fax Output

- Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) Output (e.g. for Statistics)
